On July 29th, our team joined the 4th Annual Calhoun Construction Services Golf Scramble at Elk Run Golf Club in Jeffersonville, Indiana, an event benefiting Habitat for Humanity Clark & Floyd Indiana. It was City Wide Facility Solutions of Louisville’s first year taking part, and we were proud to sponsor a hole, set up a tent on the course, and spend the day alongside the businesses and neighbors who make Southern Indiana such a tight-knit community.
A $38,000 day for local families
The headline of the day was a big one. Calhoun Construction presented a $38,000 donation to Habitat for Humanity Clark & Floyd, a remarkable result that goes directly toward safe, affordable housing for families across the region.
If you are not familiar with their work, Habitat for Humanity Clark & Floyd has built and renovated more than 50 homes across Clark and Floyd Counties since 1991. They partner with local families to turn lifelong renters into first-time homeowners, funded almost entirely through community support like this event. A donation of this size is not just a number, it is a meaningful step toward another family having a place to call home.
A cause close to home
This event holds a special connection for our team. Anne Marie Mattox, our Marketing Manager, serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Clark & Floyd, so supporting their mission is something we care about well beyond a single day on the course. City Wide Louisville is locally owned and operated, and Southern Indiana is part of the Kentuckiana region we serve every day. Showing up for the families and organizations here is not an add-on to what we do, it is who we are.
A day on the course
Between shots, our tent was a great spot to connect with fellow golfers, sponsors, and community members. We handed out a few giveaways, talked facilities with anyone who stopped by, and genuinely enjoyed being part of an event run this well. Sponsoring a hole and fielding a team gave us the best of both, a chance to give back and a chance to spend the day with great people.
